The exploitation, abuse, and violence against children often take on covert forms. It happens in every society, and it happens in places where children should be safest: their homes, environments, and schools. There are three forms of violence against children which need to be protected: Emotional Abuse Physical Abuse Sexual Abuse Emotional Abuse: A pattern of behavior by parents or other caregivers that can substantially impede a child's cognitive, emotional, psychological, or social development is referred to as emotional abuse of a child. Physical Abuse: It happens when someone attempts to control another person's behavior by using a body part or an item. Sexual Abuse: Is any violent attempt or act to achieve a sexual act, regardless of the perpetrator's relationship to the victim.
